Nike Unveils Dual Air Force 1 Collection Honoring Kobe Bryant’s High School Legacy

Nike is preparing to launch two distinctive Air Force 1 Low sneakers that pay tribute to Kobe Bryant’s high school basketball career at Lower Merion. These upcoming releases complement the brand’s broader celebration of the late basketball icon’s formative years before his professional career began.

The collection features complementary “Home” and “Away” editions, each reflecting the color scheme of Bryant’s alma mater. The Home version showcases a White and Team Red combination, while the Away model reverses this palette with Team Red as the primary color and white accents.

Both sneakers share several distinctive design elements that honor Bryant’s legacy. The uppers feature a lustrous snakeskin texture pattern, referencing Bryant’s “Black Mamba” persona. The number 33, which Bryant wore during his high school career, is embroidered on the right heel of each shoe, while an ace symbol adorns the left heel as a nod to the Lower Merion Aces team name.

Additional tribute details include Bryant’s personal logo stamped on the outer heel area and positioned near the toe section beneath a special “Mamba Forever” lace charm. The basketball legend’s autograph is featured on the interior sole of both models.

These Lower Merion-themed releases differ from recent Bryant-inspired Air Force 1 models by maintaining the classic construction without the Proto technology upgrades, such as the ReactX foam midsole found in other contemporary releases.

The Lower Merion collection represents part of Nike’s expanded Kobe Bryant tribute series. The brand also plans to release a “Siempre Hermanos” colorway celebrating Bryant’s friendship with former Lakers teammate Pau Gasol, along with a previously unreleased denim version expected later in the year.

Nike has coordinated the launch to create a comprehensive Lower Merion Aces tribute, with both Air Force 1 Low models releasing simultaneously alongside the matching Kobe 5 Protro on March 23. Each sneaker will be priced at $120 retail.
